US DOE Approves Safety Design Strategy For Radiant Microreactor
Los Anglese-based Radiant expects to deliver a limited number of pre-ordered Kaleidos units as soon as 2028.

The US Department of Energy has approved the safety design strategy for Los Angeles-based Radiant Industries’ Kaleidos microreactor, a portable nuclear plant which can be deployed almost anywhere and which will be tested at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).

Radiant said the Kaleidos will be the first new commercial reactor design to achieve a fuelled test in over 50 years.
