Who We Are

NucNet is an independent, non-profit news agency reporting on the civil nuclear sector. Based in Brussels and registered in Belgium as a non-profit association, it was created in 1990 with the support of the European Nuclear Society in response to a growing need for accurate information about nuclear energy and ionising radiation.

NucNet has published continuously since January 1991.
NucNet covers nuclear power plant operation and construction, industry and energy policy, nuclear safety and security, emerging technologies, the fuel cycle and decommissioning, medical applications, and the safe use of ionising radiation. Its readers include industry professionals, regulators, policymakers, and researchers around the world.

NucNet's news reporting is factual and independent. It focuses on the facts behind developments and the context needed to understand their significance.
