The outer dome of the double-layered containment building has been installed at Unit 1 of the Xudapu nuclear power station in Liaoning province, northeastern China, project developer China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) said.

Xudapu-1 is of the CAP1000 PWR design, a domestic version of the Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear plant. Construction of the unit began in November 2023.
