US nuclear company Nano Nuclear Energy is spending $8m (€7.7m) to acquire the major assets of the bankrupt Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation (USNC), a midsize startup that is developing microreactor technology and advanced nuclear fuel.

New York-based Nano, which is developing its Zeus and Odin microreactors, said it had executed a definitive agreement to acquire select nuclear energy technology assets from USNC and certain of its subsidiaries.

The acquired assets include USNC’s patented Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) system, along with all associated patents and other intellectual property rights.
