Terra Innovatum Global, a New York-based developer of micro-modular nuclear reactors (MMRs), has announced that Latin American media group Waiken ILW has chosen its Solo MMR platform for an initial deployment supporting the data centre infrastructure of two broadcasting and streaming services providers.
The non-binding letter of intent covers up to 8 MW of dedicated behind-the-meter capacity, delivered via multiple Solo units for data centre sites that support satellite television, streaming and broadband provider DIRECTV Latin America and direct-to-home satellite pay television operator SKY Brazil.
The agreement represents Terra Innovatum’s first announced commercial deployment initiative in Latin America and, the company says, reflects growing international demand for standardised, factory-built micro-modular nuclear power.
