AEM Technologies, a branch of Russian equipment manufacturer Atomenergomash, completed welding of the reactor pressure vessel for the first unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power station in southern Turkey.Atomenergomash said the welding took 10 days to complete and involved continuous heating at temperatures between 150 and 300 degrees Celsius. The RPV will now be placed in a special furnace for two days to finalise the welding process.
