Aalo Atomics, a US company building small modular nuclear plants to power modern AI data centres will receive it first fuel delivery from Urenco no later than the first quarter of 2026, paving the way for criticality of its Aalo-X advanced rector.

The fuel will be delivered by multinational uranium company Urenco under a contract signed in July. The planned delivery means Aalo could become the first US advanced nuclear reactor company to accept the commercial delivery of enriched uranium.

Austin, Texas-based Aalo Atomics said Aalo-X could be the first advanced reactor capable of producing power built in the US in over a generation.
