US-based nuclear equipment manufacturer Westinghouse Electric Company has signed a contract with Ukraine’s state-owned nuclear operator Energoatom for the delivery of containment cooling systems for the Rivne nuclear power station.
There are two Russia-designed VVER-440 pressurised water reactor (PWR) units in commercial operation at Rivne (or Rovno) in northwestern Ukraine.
