The World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) recognised outstanding contributions to nuclear excellence and future industry leadership during the 2026 Nuclear Excellence and Young Generation Rising Star Awards ceremony, held as part of the association’s biennial general meeting (BGM) in Tokyo, Japan.
WANO said the awards celebrate individuals whose dedication, expertise and commitment have helped strengthen the safe and reliable operation of nuclear power plants worldwide, while also inspiring the next generation of industry professionals.
Established in 2002, the WANO Nuclear Excellence Award (NEA) recognises professionals who have made extraordinary contributions to excellence in nuclear operations, supporting industry infrastructure, or advancing WANO’s mission.
