The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) office for environmental management has issued a request for proposal (RFP) inviting companies to develop and power artificial intelligence (AI) data centres on the Oak Ridge Reservation in Tennessee.

The Oak Ridge Reservation is a 33,000-acre federal site established in 1943 as part of the Manhattan Project.
