First SMR scheduled to be in operation – potentially at a former coal site – in 2029
US reactor developer NuScale and Poland’s KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. (KGHM) have signed an agreement to begin the deployment of NuScale’s small modular reactor technology with the first plant scheduled to be operational in the eastern European country in 2029.
