California-based advanced nuclear developer Deep Fission has signed a fuel purchase agreement for low-enriched uranium (LEU) with enrichment services provider Urenco USA to support its testing and demonstration activities.
Deep Fission, which aims to place small modular reactors (SMRs) in boreholes one mile beneath the Earth’s surface, also said the fuel would help with development efforts.
