The Olkiluoto-3 nuclear power plant in Finland has resumed electricity production on Monday (8 August) at 220 MW capacity after test production was interrupted by “foreign material issues” in the turbine’s steam reheater.
TVO said on social media that the 1,600-MW EPR plant, construction of which began in 2005, would reach 870 MW on Tuesday (9 August) and is scheduled to reach full capacity in September.
“We need all the CO2-free production, not to mention the positive effect of the security of supply,” a spokesman said.
