Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) will work with Bechtel and Sargent & Lundy to support initial planning and evaluation for the first GE Hitachi (GEH) small modular reactor (SMR) at TVA’s Clinch River nuclear site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Bechtel and Sargent & Lundy will work with GEH and TVA to plan, design, and potentially procure, construct and commission the first GEH BWRX-300 SMR at Clinch River, with operation tentatively scheduled for 2033.
Clinch River is a 370-hectare site in Roane County for which TVA holds the nation’s only early site permit from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
