Tehran Prepared To Share Nuclear Expertise With Turkey As It Aims To Become ‘Regional Hub’
Iran operates one commercial nuclear reactor, the Russian-built Bushehr-1.

Iran is prepared to share its nuclear expertise with Turkey as it aims to become a regional centre for designing and building nuclear power plants and the manufacture and export of radiopharmaceuticals.

In a meeting with Turkish ambassador to Iran Hicabi Kırlangıc, Mohammad Eslami, president of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), said Iran was prepared to share its expertise in building and maintaining nuclear power plants with Turkey.

Eslami also said Iran was willing to provide nuclear training and to export radiopharmaceuticals to Turkey.

Eslami’s comments, widely reported in Iranian state media, follow remarks earlier this month, when he said Iran is aiming to become a centre for the manufacturing and export of radiopharmaceuticals, drugs containing radioactive isotopes that are used in nuclear medicine for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases such as cancer.
