Urenco USA has completed 75% of a project to expand its domestic uranium enrichment production capacity to more than seven million separative work units (SWU*) over the next decade.

The company said it has installed six installed cascades at its National Enrichment Facility, in Eunice, New Mexico, that can produce more than 500,000 SWU annually.

According to Urenco the National Enrichment Facility is the only operating commercial-scale uranium enrichment plant in the US.

The company expects to install the seventh cascade later this year and the final cascade in the spring of 2027.
