The second EPR nuclear power unit at the Taishan nuclear power station in southern China’s Guangdong province has begun commercial operation, it has been announced.China General Nuclear (CGN), France’s state-owned EDF and the plant designer Framatome confirmed the Generation III+ unit’s commercial operating status on 7 September after the reactor completed 168 hours of continuous operation.
