Proposal has exposed divisions between member states
The European commission has begun consultations with member states on the draft text of a regulation that would allow nuclear energy to be labelled as a “green” energy source that could contribute to the transition to climate neutrality. The commission said it plans to label nuclear energy and natural gas as climate-friendly investments under sustainable finance taxonomy rules.
