Paks 2 Company Submits Application For Key Licence
The existing Paks nuclear power station in Hungary.
The company leading the Paks 2 nuclear project in Hungary submitted its application for an implementation licence for the new reactor units to the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority.

Paks II Ltd said the licence, if granted, will show that the two Generation III+ plants planned for the site will meet requirements set out in the Hungarian Electricity Act.

In July, Paks II submitted a separate licence application, for construction of the two plants, to the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA).

Both licences are needed before nuclear construction at the site can begin.
