NEI says 96 reactors accounted for nearly 55% of all carbon-free electricity
The US fleet of 96 commercial nuclear power plants generated a record 809.4 million MWh of electricity in 2019, the highest since the birth of commercial nuclear power in 1957, the Washington-based Nuclear Energy Institute said in a report.
