Russia’s fleet of 37 commercial nuclear power plants generated over 223.3 billion kWh (gross) of electricity in 2022, another record following the 222.4 billion kWh (gross) in 2021.

State nuclear operator Rosenergoatom said one of the main factors behind the new record was repair schedules that resulted in reactors being out of service for only 146 days.

The 2022 record meant the nuclear fleet’s production target was exceeded by 2.5%, an increase from 2.2% in 2021.
