Russia’s 38 commercial nuclear power plants produced more than 222.4 billion kWh (gross) of electricity in 2021 – the highest ever amount and exceeding their target by 2.2%, state nuclear operator Rosenergoatom said.

Planned production for 2021 was 217.6 billion kWh (gross) of electricity, already an increase of slightly more than 3% over the target for 2020. That target was reached on 24 December 2021, Rosenergoatom said last week.
