Iran plans to build five nuclear power stations along its coastline as it aims to expand its energy capacity to meet rising demand, state media reported, citing the country’s head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI).
The reports from Iran’s official IRNA news agency quoted the head of the organisation, Mohammad Eslami, saying his comments were made during a meeting with members of parliament’s energy and construction commissions.
Eslami, who is also a member of Iran’s cabinet, said the projects were being implemented under the country’s strategy for its nuclear industry unveiled in 2022.
