Shikoku Electric Power Company has restarted Unit 3 at the Ikata nuclear power station in Ehime Prefecture, southwest Japan, bringing the number of commercial power reactors in operation in the country to eight out of a possible 33.

The 846-MW pressurised water reactor – which had been offline since December 2019 – is expected to begin supplying power on 6 December and to resume commercial operation on 4 January.
