The International Atomic Energy Agency has been informed that the 330 kV Ferosplavna-1 power line at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power station in Ukraine – the plant’s only remaining offsite power line - was disconnected at 00:44 local time today resulting in a new loss of offsite power.
The IAEA said on social media that the location of the damage to the line was preliminarily assessed to be on the northern bank of the Dnipro River.
An attempt to reconnect the line manually was unsuccessful and, due to ongoing military activity, technicians are currently unable to determine the cause of the outage, the IAEA said.
