Tough decisions need to be taken quickly to tackle the significant challenges affecting citizens and businesses today with homegrown nuclear energy a key component of efforts to establish energy sovereignty, a major industry group has said in an action plan.

The plan, published by Brussels-based nucleareurope, which represents nearly 3,000 companies in the nuclear industry, calls for a long-term policy vision to stimulate net zero with nuclear

It also renews calls for an “equitable financial framework” to stimulate investments in nuclear and an accelerated regulatory framework to speed up nuclear deployment

The plan urges Europe to invest in the entire fuel cycle to ensure security of supply and to produce a policy framework sustaining a nuclear industry supply chain based in Europe.
