Bulgaria has begun negotiations with Greece for the potential construction of a new nuclear power station in Bulgaria which would supply electricity to both countries, Bulgarian finance minister and deputy prime minister Asen Vasilev told national television.
According to Mr Vasilev, Greece is to buy electricity from the proposed plant under a 20-year fixed contract.
He said Bulgaria is and will continue to be an operator of nuclear power plants, but stopped short of specifying any specific site for the new plant.
