Gov’t In Talks On Creation Of State-Backed Nuclear Company, Minister Says
Italy shut down its last commercial nuclear power reactors, Caorso and Enrico Fermi (pictured), in 1990.
The Italian government is in talks with energy groups Enel, Ansaldo and defence business Leonardo to set up a state-backed company to develop nuclear power plants in Italy, the nation’s energy minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin said.
