Cooperation will include work on existing power plants
France-based nuclear company Framatome and Slovak engineering firm Vuje have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in nuclear engineering, plant modernisation and advanced reactor technologies, a statement said.
The agreement was signed during a nuclear energy summit held in Boulogne-Billancourt, organised by the French government and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The companies said the memorandum establishes a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening collaboration across nuclear services, including support for the operation and upgrading of existing nuclear power plants.
Framatome and Vuje said the cooperation is expected to support the development of “safe, reliable and competitive” nuclear technologies and contribute to strengthening the European nuclear supply chain.
Vuje chairman Zoltán Harsányi said the memorandum elevates the relationship between the two companies to a strategic partnership.
Framatome is a major international supplier of nuclear fuel, services and reactor technologies, owned by France’s EDF group.
Vuje is a Slovak engineering company providing nuclear design, safety analysis and technical support services, particularly for reactors in Central and Eastern Europe.
