The Olkiluoto-2 nuclear plant in southwest Finland will be shut down for a refuelling outage on 6 April followed by a longer-than-usual service outage at the identical Olkiluoto-1, owner and operator Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TO) has said.
The outage at the plant, about 260 km northwest of the capital Helsinki, is expected to last for approximately 10 days with various annual preventive maintenance tasks, inspections, repairs and tests carried out in addition to refuelling.
TVO said Olkiluoto-2 is scheduled to resume electricity production on 16 April.
Following the completion of the Olkiluoto-2 outage, a service outage will begin for Olkiluoto-1 and last until mid-June.
