Madrid announces lifetime extension, but sticks to controversial shutdown plans
Spain’s decision to extend the operational lifetime of the Almaraz nuclear power station is in line with recommendations to extend the life of all nuclear reactors for as long as possible and should pave the way for a broader reconsideration of the role of nuclear energy in Spain beyond 2035, the Brussels-based industry group nucleareurope has said.
