The president of Brazil’s nuclear operator Eletronuclear, Raul Lycurgo Leite, has called for the resumption of construction at the country’s Angra-3 nuclear power plant in an article published by local daily Folha de Sao Paulo, a statement by the company said.

Leite argued that the financial, environmental, and social benefits of completing the project outweigh the costs of abandoning it, according to a study by Brazil's National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).
