The UK government body Radioactive Waste Management is in “early discussions” with local officials about siting a deep geological disposal facility for radioactive waste in the country of Lincolnshire, northeast England.
RWM official Steve Reece said no decisions have been made and that the decision process “ultimately requires a community to give clear consent [and] this project is totally unique in that the local community will have the final say”.
