US-based utility Constellation Energy has announced it plans to extend the lifetime by an additional 20 years of the single-unit Clinton and two-unit Dresden nuclear power stations in Illinois.
The company said Clinton could operate until 2047 and the two Dresden units could operate until 2049 and 2051, subject to the approval of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
