Construction has progressed at China’s Lufeng nuclear power station in the southern province of Guangdong with completion of main pipeline welding at Unit 6 and installation of the pressuriser at Unit 1, local sources said.

The welding of the Unit 6 nuclear island main pipeline was completed on 28 September, laying the basis for nuclear loop flushing and cold hydraulic testing.

The main circulation pipeline at a nuclear power plant carries coolant, usually water, through the reactor core to absorb heat generated by nuclear fission. It connects the reactor pressure vessel with the steam generators and the reactor coolant pumps and is an integral part of a pressurised water reactor system.
