Czech utility ČEZ is carrying out extensive turbine hall and secondary circuit modernisation during the current outage at the Dukovany-3 nuclear unit as part of work to prepare the nuclear power station for operation of up to 80 years.

The company said in a statement that the outage includes hundreds of inspections, maintenance tasks and investment projects on systems that convert energy produced in the reactor into electricity for the transmission grid.
