Nuclear fuel supplier Centrus Energy said on 19 November it had received a notice from Russia’s Tenex that Moscow passed an order cancelling its licence to export low-enriched uranium (LEU) to the US, effective until 31 December 2025.

Bethesda, Maryland-based Centrus said Tenex, a state-owned exporter of enriched uranium and a supplier of nuclear fuel cycle products, is seeking the necessary export licences, but there is no certainty whether they will be issued by the Russian authorities and if issued, whether they will be “in a timely manner”, Centrus said.
