French small modular reactor (SMR) startups Jimmy and Calogena have both received funding under the France 2030 industrial plan to help advance their technologies designed to provide heat to industrial sites and district heating networks.

Jimmy said in a statement that it had received €40m ($46.4m) from the French government as a winner in the country’s Phase Two ‘innovative nuclear reactors’ programme, and raised a further €40m through a fundraising round to advance its technology.
