Bulgaria’s state-owned Kozloduy NPP-New Build expects within weeks to prepare a notification to the European Commission on state aid for the planned construction of Units 7 and 8 at the existing Kozloduy nuclear power station, according to local reports.
The notification will be submitted by the finance ministry, Petyo Ivanov, chief executive of the project company, told journalists at a press conference.
US-based Westinghouse Electric was selected in 2023 to be the technology supplier for the Kozloduy expansion project, which will have two AP1000 pressurised water reactor units, Kozloduy-7 and -8.
