Basin Energy has reported that analysis derived from historical drillholes has confirmed significant uranium mineralisation across all three of its projects in northern Sweden.

The Australia-based company said its findings from modern geochemical sampling and data validation of 59 historical drillholes confirm “substantial uranium intervals” and validate the quality of legacy data for the Björkberget, Rävaberget and Virka projects.

The findings come as Sweden prepares to lift its ban on uranium mining from January 2026 with the aim of preparing for greater nuclear energy capacity and reducing its dependence on energy imports.
