US-based engineering company Amentum will lead a joint venture which has been awarded a $112m (€96m) contract by the European Commission Joint Research Centre for decommissioning and waste management work at four of its sites across the EU, a statement said.

The two-year extendable joint venture contract will also include engineering company WSP Italia and subcontractors TUV Rheinland and Protection Solution SRL, said the statement.
