X-energy subsidiary X-energy Canada and Invest Alberta have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop economic opportunities supporting the potential deployment of the Xe-100 small modular reactor within the province.

X-energy, a US-based developer of advanced SMRs and fuel technology, said joint efforts under the MOU will include the identification of supply chain opportunities, engagement with local and provincial governments, and strengthening of relationships with Indigenous communities interested in equity participation in Xe-100 projects.

Invest Alberta, a government body which promotes investment in Alberta, will also support X-energy’s efforts to establish a divisional office.
