US-based Westinghouse is preparing to begin discussions on details of Poland’s project to build its first commercial nuclear power station.

Miroslaw Kowalik, head of Westinghouse’s Polish branch, said the company would have talks with Polish nuclear project company Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) as the next step in Warsaw’s move to build three Westinghouse-made AP1000 pressurised water reactor units at the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site in the northern province of Pomerania.
