Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) has awarded the first two long-lead-time contracts for its new advanced National Compact Stellarator Experiment (NCSX) – which is now under construction at the laboratory and is scheduled to make first plasma in May 2008 and operate for at least 10 years.
