Westinghouse said in a statement that the acquisition will advance the company’s strategy to expand its technical nuclear outage, engineering, and digital services capabilities globally.
The company said that after the deal is finalised, it will co-own and co-manage Tecnatom with Spainish utility Endesa through a joint venture.
According to Westinghouse, Tecnatom has already been a “long-term partner” in areas like inspection and structural integrity, operation personnel training, plant operation support engineering, digitalisation, and Westinghouse’s AP1000 reactor technology.
The acquisition is still subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, Westinghouse said.
