A group of US companies has reportedly approached the UK government about taking over the development of a nuclear power station at Wylfa in north Wales.
Unconfirmed reports in the UK said engineering giant Bechtel will lead the consortium and will be joined by utility Southern and nuclear technology provider Westinghouse, which designed and manufactures the AP1000 reactor technology.
