US-based nuclear company Holtec has announced the development of a new power plant design that will integrate the use of nuclear and solar energy.
The company said the proposed CNSP (Combined Nuclear/Solar Plant) will combine Holtec's SMR-300 small modular reactor (SMR) design and its HI-THERM HSP solar thermal system in tandem with Holtec's Green Boiler—a versatile three-in-one device capable of storing substantial heat.
