UK Strategy Lays Out Plans To Use Existing Nuclear Plants This Decade
Existing and future nuclear technologies can play a role in a planned UK-wide hydrogen economy with existing commercial nuclear power plants being used to generate green hydrogen by the end of the decade, a strategy released by the government on Tuesday says.

The strategy says low-temperature nuclear electrolysis using existing nuclear plants could be online during the 2020s with “further developments” related to the technology expected in the coming years.

It says high-temperature nuclear electrolysis could develop hydrogen from advanced nuclear plants for 2030, with further innovation and developments expected in 2020s.
