UK-based U-Battery has unveiled a full-scale, first of its kind, mockup of the main vessels of an advanced modular reactor (AMR) – a milestone towards using the technology to provide power and heat for applications including energy intensive industries and remote locations.

The aim was to create the full-size model of the reactor pressure vessel, the intermediate heat exchanger vessel and the connecting duct. U-Battery said it also demonstrated how the reactor can be built using modular techniques, making it easy to construct and transport.
