UK Awards £3.3 Million For Six ‘Cutting-Edge’ Nuclear Projects
Ultra Safe in the UK is receiving funding for a project that will build on the US-based company’s existing micro modular reactor design.
Cutting-edge nuclear technology projects across the UK have received government backing of £3.3m (€3.8m, $3.8m) to help develop the next generation of nuclear reactors.

The government said the funding will support the early-stage innovation for six winning projects, helping to attract private investment and supporting the creation of new jobs.

The funding was awarded through the government’s advanced modular reactor research, development and demonstration (AMR RD&D) programme. It will support the development of nuclear technology in the UK such as high temperature gas reactors (HTGRs), helping revolutionise the way the UK gets its energy.
